What exactly is Adware Alert?
Adware Alert is a rouge anti-spyware program that uses misleading advertising and a misleading title to sell a less than legit software program. Adware Alert claims that it detects and removes adware and spyware from your infected computer system. The bottom line is Adware Alert is a scam.
How does Adware Alert affect your PC?
Once Adware Alert has been installed on your system (sometimes by accidental installation) it will constantly display fake system notifications and pop-ups that falsely state your computer is infected by spyware. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Adware Alert is a scam and should be avoided at all costs.
What to do if you’re infected with Adware Alert
If Adware Alert has managed to install itself on your computer or if you knowing installed it thinking that it would protect your computer from spyware, remove it ASAP! Use the windows control panel to un-install the program. Next you will need to run a legitimate trusted anti-spyware program such as XoftspySE, Spyware Doctor 2010, or NoAdware.
We recommend XoftspySE as our top spyware blocker for 2010.

norton antivirus 2010 identifies adwarealert as both “softstop” (a “scareware” false-positive identifier) and as a MalwareBot that identifies legitimate programs as spyware. AdwareAlert is a waste of $30! I wish someone had blown the whistle before I bought that piece of crap software!
